I had to receive a replacement 12 Pro Space Gray due to ongoing call issues. The new phone shows model number NGK13LL/A vs the MGK13LL/A of my original. Does anyone know what the N vs M indicates?

N for refurbished iPhones. <--- X, MY BAD!
  • M: New device, iPhone was bought as a brand new device.
  • F: Refurbished device, iPhone has gone through refurbishing process.
  • N: Replacement device, originally bought iPhone was replaced by this device.

N is a replacement model
This wiki is great. Interesting they designate between M, N, and F. I was thinking the N replacement they sent was refurb. After reading the wiki post, my guess is M = brand new with all the packaging and accessories, N = the same as M but only the phone, R = same as N but was previously used by a consumer. Thanks fo rate fast responses!

Not necessarily...this early in the game, they are probably doing warranty replacements with new phones because there aren't enough in the return pipeline yet to stock with refurb units.
Good point! To back this up it could take 3 months or so for the refurb units to be built... According to Quora...
