So I recorded a movie on my iPhone in portrait mode. It's one minute in size. I uploaded it to my Mac and when I play it in Quicktime it plays upright as it should but when I play it in VLC player it plays sizeways. I sent it to my friend cause he's in it and he says he has the same problem. Is there any way to resolve this so that it plays proper in any player??

I don't know if you have any video editing software but you can just rotate/flip it in one of those programs. I use Final Cut for stuff like this, but I realize you might only have iMovie or something like that. Throw it in iMovie and rotate it. It's likely that VLC is just coded to flip videos to landscape instead of playing vertically.
