If this is in the wrong section i apologize.

Here is the story: I have an iphone 3g 8gb, a MBP all running latest ios4 and itunes 9.2. Today i decided to sync a couple of books onto my iphone, and after that all of a sudden my capacity which is almost always close to full with maybe a 100mb left shot up to 5.02 gb i was like wtf? Somehow all my music got deleted off my phone, and i didnt change a single setting except to sync certain books. And i have set up to sync only checked songs since i have about 10 gb of music but it wont sync music at all now, all i can do is manually add each song, anybody have any solutions? This is frustrating and will take forever if i have to sync each individual song.
