Iphone music?

I downloaded some music and tried to sync them to my iPhone, some aren't showing up whatsoever, while others are showing up greyed out and can't play them.

Any ideas on how to get them to sync and be ready to play all the time?

Haven't owned an iphone/ipod/ipad in years so never had this problem before.

Do you have iCloud Music Library on? If so you have to turn it off in Settings>Music>iCloud Music Library then sync.
