iPhone not charging in Windows 8

I have just installed Windows 8 on a work laptop and plugged in my iPhone.

I don't use it to sync or anything as that's done by my Mac, I just use it to charge the phone.

However its not working, Device Manager shows the iPhone with a yellow warning symbol and getting it to upgrade drivers does not work.

Any ideas?

Did you install RTM? It may be a bug if not. I've never had a problem getting the iPhone to charge, but I've always had it running with the apple bootcamp utilities (broken in RTM, btw, for anyone wondering)

Maybe try installing iTunes/quicktime? Worth a shot

I have RTM installed.

I don't really want to install iTunes as I'm not going to use it plus I like to keep Windows as clean as possible
