I have a 3G Iphone that is having charging issues. It is constantly stuck on the battery with a red lightning strike through the beginning of it. Shouldn't I be able to use it while it is charging? Is it possible to replace the battery? I read that sometimes you may have to charge it for 10 hrs to get it going again. Appreciate the input.

Press the home button and the sleep button till you see the apple logo (forced reboot). Maybe it helps.

sounds like the battery is bad. yes you can have it replaced. you would not see the red charging symbol if it was the dock connector (charging port) so the battery would be it.
