Hi friends,

my iPhone lately doesn't do anythign when I connect it to my computer. It doesn't even start charging, and i've tried all the USB ports. it charges in external charges, but does nothing with the computer.

anyone else have this issue, or can suggest a solution? thanks!

EDIT: I've tried resetting the phone, nothing happens.

update: it works right after I restart my comp, but after that it won't work a second time. Any ideas?

Do other USB peripheral work? Mice, another ipod, a flash drive, etc?

Also, does it show up in the system profiler as being connected?

This way we can narrow down if it's your USB ports or the iPhone.

other peripherals show up & work, and my system profiler looks like this (no iPhone I guess...)

This happened on my macbook. I had to download iTunes from the apple site and reinstall it to get everything working again.

same problem

I am also having this problem. The iphone registers and charges on the dock when plugged into the wall but will not register on the computer in either USB. I am running leopard on a Macbook pro. Any suggestions?

same here!! i need help! i just got the iphone and itwont sync to itunes, so i cant even activate it
my old phone syncs fine, when i plug in the iphone i get the camera options to show, but itunes doesnt open, and when i do open it, there are no devices sync'd

iphone troubles: No connection between imac and iphone

I am withdrawing the comments I made about the iphone not connecting with imac- I have found out that the connection is a complex one that I hadn't been aware of.

The iphone I have is a truly excellent product.

I do have some serious reservations about Apple's over-the-top protectionist approach to how images, calendar, and contact information is handled.

This is not the correct thread for this so I'll go elsewhere.

I hope the above problems get sorted out.
