It seems that message notifications are somewhat broken on my iPhone 16 Pro Max - iOS 26.1. A fair amount of the time I do not get notifications of messages. I do get them on my iPad and 2 Macs.

I always have the red badges showing unread count, and the messages show up - it's just that there are no notifications. I may be wrong, but a lot of the time it's our family Messages group (all members have iPhones, nothing unusual in their setups - very vanilla-setup iPhone users). I have tried toggling notifications followed by a hard reset. Any ideas? Is this a known bug?

FYI in case others have this problem....I found it! I became more and more convinced I was only missing notifications from 1 Messages group. I long-pressed on the group name, and voila I saw an item, "Show Alerts". I tapped it, now a long-press shows "Hide Alerts". Somehow Alerts got turned off for that group. I checked all my other groups and they were fine. I never knew you could turn off alerts for a given name or group - makes sense though!
