iPhone Not in iTunes, Won't Shut Off, Acting WEIRD!

Been having some issues with my iPhone 3G lately, it seems to be getting worse, like a person with an illness which is freaking me out.
First was the iTunes error when trying to connect to iTunes, 0xE800006B, then I went to shut it off last night for bed and it got stuck in the Apple screen for some time. It is giving me the "This device is not for iPhone" when I use the car adapter. It's just been weird.
Might be time for a full restore which is pretty time consuming but may have to be done.
Any other suggestions?

Your dock connection could be dirty. Water also causes that, but assuming you don't have water damage, look into cleaning it with a small paint brush (don't blow into it).

Could Be

Yep Aggie Ag,
That could be it because I jiggled the dock connector cable and it clicked on, showed up in iTunes and I did a synch.
Thanks for the paintbrush idea.
