iphone not sending or receiving calls or texts

I have had my iphone for two weeks with no problems but now it will not send or receive calls or texts. My email is working so it is connecting to the internet. It continues to say it is searching at the top of the phone. Searching for what? I am using it from the same location I always use it so I don't think it is bad reception. My home phone & internet are all on the same account so I know it isn't my AT&T account. It is strange.

it might be a problem with the AT&T cell towers. I'd call them first and see what their tech support says before contacting apple about it. It sounds like an ATT problem to me.
