Hey guys & gals,

recently while talking on the phone i am not able to text and browse and use my 3g while talking. Does anybody know why and how I can fix this??

I've also noticed this problem a few days ago. It only happens when one of the telephone participants are on 3G. If I call on wi-fi, no problems - I can text / surf just fine. But if someone on 3G calls me, my home button does nothing.

OMG, that's crazy. The EXACT same thing happened to me earlier today. I was like what in the world? I thought my phone was frozen but luckily I was able to double-tap the home button, pull up the multi-task bar, and select the messaging program from there.

It's driving me crazy. After the call, all I can do to get my home button to work again is to either (a) lock and unlock the phone or (b) restart the phone.

Again it is only when someone on 3G calls me. If i call (on either wifi or 3g) someone else, no problems.

Very strange. And annoying.

lol

is this a joke? you're on the network! using up the bandwidth to talk! how do you expect to text when the network is already being used?
it's like saying you can't talk on your house phone when someone else is already using it lol
you guys are great

Actually, you're incorrect.
3G allows (or should allow) you to use data and voice simultaneously.

Go to http://www.att.com/network/ and see more info under "Talk & Surf."

You don't understand cellular telephony.

Hey, thanks for your worthless contribution. Who doesn't love a great snark.
And BTW people do have multiple lines (VOIP or otherwise) at home to talk simultaneously as well AND they can surf the web too. WHO KNEW? Not you.

You CAN do this AND you get to pay for this. Check the key facts.

"Talk and E-mail at the same time. AT&T's 3G network lets wireless customers simultaneously talk and surf the web or do e-mail."

Anyway, for me, this problem just started 2 days ago.

It just started for me today, I wonder what's going on? And you're right, it's only when other 3G callers call me, and not the other way around. Very strange.
