iphone not updating mail while on wifi

I was wondering why is it when i refresh my mail while on other WiFi networks it doesn't update?, but on my home WiFi it does update when i check it. any suggestions or settings that I may need to trigger?

It isn't your phone it is the wifi. Wifi might have a block on whatever mail service you use.
