iPhone not working (Help)

i have an iPhone vr. 1.1.1 and the iPod feature don't work
when i click on the icon it says no songs, when i go to about it say no songs but says capacity 7.3GB and available 4.7GB so i know i have songs on there but where did they go, why is ipod not picking them up




RESTARTING SOLVED THE PROBLEM , why does iPhone act up like this
