Just upgraded to Sequoia 15.7 and latest iOS 18 on iPhone. I was a couple versions behind on both (15.4 or something).

Previous to this update when I got a notification for example on Whatsapp, I'd get the notification on both my iPhone and on Mac. Now I only get the notification on Mac. My iPhone no longer turns its screen on the lock screen to show the notification or makes a sound. I have to manually tap the screen to see that a notification is there, though it's completely silenced.

I know that avoiding Dual notification could be the purpose, but this is not how things worked before. For example if my Mac is still on and I walk away from it to another room with my phone, I will no longer be notified of anything coming in on my phone because it will all go to the Mac?

Am I missing a setting that got turned on or a new setting since these new updates?

Anyone have any idea how to resolve this or have any experience with this? Thanks

Sequoia/18 has the iPhone mirroring feature which includes showing your iPhone's notifications on Mac. I don't use WhatsApp, so I don't quite understand how you were getting notifications on your mac before, but you can disable iPhone notifications on Mac in the Notifications settings.

That's correct, I have the Seqouia/18 mirroring feature on which shows my iPhone notifications on my Mac and that works normally.

The problem is when my Mac shows a notification from my iPhone it no longer "actively" shows on my iPhone is on Standby mode. That means the iPhone screen just stays black, since the notification is showing up on my Mac.

But if I'm away from my mac with my iPhone it can be an issue cauase my iphone won't blink with the notification and my mac shows the notification but i'm in another room.

This wasnt an issue on Sequoia 15.2 and previous ios 18.3 or whatever i was on, the notification would show up both on the Mac + the iPhone, even when the iPhone was on standby, it would blink and turn on to light up the screen show the notification and make the notification sound.
