I no longer use an iPhone but my husband does so admittedly I am no longer up on the latest releases etc.

But I have the flu at the moment and just don't have the ability to read through the threads but wonder IF the following is a known bug or should I be looking elsewhere?

I have all of my mac gear, listed under my apple nick. Including my Apple TV.

My husband uses just the iPhone and I put it under his own nick with apple, not mine.
I recently noticed he uses the iPad more than I so changed it to his nick so the pad and phone synch.

He just phoned his iPhones phone number ( noticed it wasn't ringing) from other phone all together not at all associated, while I had my retina iMac hooked up to the apple tv, under my nick again to our main TV and were watching a film I had on my computer.

When he dialled his iPhones number, it did not ring his phone but rang though to his iPad, which then went though the TV speakers, I am assuming via Apple T.v.
This has never happened before. When I open up his iPad and check with apps are running half expecting to see FaceTime there, I see its not. The only app working in the background is his email app.......and a notification popped up letting him know there was an update for his iPad 4.
FaceTime is not running.....

Don't know if its the full bug scrambling my brain but I haven't quite figured out how this happened. Not once, but 3x just to be sure we were hearing it right...

Any ideas? iPhone is on 8.1.3 but I am not sure when it automatically updated.

I should add that anytime it rings, through the Apple TV and speakers built into the TV, it stops iTunes, which I am using to view films through my library.
