iPhone Numbering

I was reading through another thread and something hit me. iPhone 7 sounds dumb. I know we are talking about the iPhone 4S/5 coming out, but how much longer do you think Apple will continue to use numbers to differentiate the iPhone. They don't use numbers for the iPod, only descriptions (touch, classic, nano, etc.). There are also no number on any of their other products. When they come out with a new Macbook, it's not Macbook 2, at least not externally. At some point there's got to be an end to the numbers. Just have iPhone and whatever moniker they want to give the cheaper iPhone (iPhone lite?).
