Not getting any love on Appleinsider wanted to know if anyone uses 3 in uk wanted to know if there any decent as im going to be in the UK for a few weeks

When I got my 4S back in November, I was on 3. However, the signal is terrible and I've now switched to O2 which is much better :).

Depends where you live. Around me (London) it's spot on.

Around Yorkshire specifically South, you will get 3G 90% of the time. And very fast 3G, on speedtest.net app I get around 9-10 mb, in hot spots.

Get a 3 payg sim card and use that to see how signal is with your current phone.

Well my brother lives in Kew Gardens ,Slough I think thats a suburb in London.3's sim only deal was recomended by my brothers wife unlimited data etc just wanted to know if they were good for the money cause im not voice I dont know anyone in the UK anyway besides my brother

Are you just getting the Sim or are you getting the phone on a contract?

Just so you know things like "Visual" voicemail is only available on o2. It snot a deal breaker though.

If you're interested giffgaff is really good and uses o2 signal. (wish I could have gone down this route)

Just read your post properly (its too early here). If you already have a phone the giffgaff will be perfect for you.

I'm on 3's £15 3,000 texts, 300 mins and unlimited data pay as you go bolt on.

I get 3G 90% of the time in Berkshire and London. I seem to remember Alton had quite good signal too.

Not sure about anywhere else though. The speeds are always quite consistent, 3-4Mbps

Three are an excellent network now. Best value for money by far. Wouldn't think twice about recommending them.

Example, on a train from Glasgow - London, I lose signal in 1 area for about 5 minutes. The rest of the time, I get a great signal!

No just need a sim im not a UK citizen so getting a contract wouldnt be possible plus im only there for a few weeks just need a sim for my unlocked 4S but 3 sounds pretty good as I wont be leaving the london area. The only cell phone co I know about is 3 havent heard about any others like Giffgaff at all and dont really know a whole lot about o2

Great up here in Newcastle - following a network upgrade near my place of work, I was getting 6Mbps down last week, 3mbps up. That's faster than my home broadband.

Ahh ok. o2 is probably the biggest cellphone network over here but you should be fine with 3 :)

So dumb question I just walk into a 3 store and ask for a sim whats the deal im new to this

1. Ask for a pay as you go microSIM.
2. Then top up £15 and buy the 3000 texts 300 mins unltd data bolt on.
3. Do this every month as it runs out after 30 days.
4. ???
5. Profit
