iPhone on Family Plan

I'm a current AT&T customer and I know that I can just add the iphone in place of my current phone and just pay the extra $20 per month, but does being on a Family Plan impact the others in that plan??
It does not for me. The other phone on my plan works just like I did not have an iPhone, with the only difference on my plan from the norm is the +$20 for the iphone data plan. Hope that helps.
