Hi. I'm deciding on what carrier to choose and what phone to use.

My question is, is there a difference in T-Mobile frequencys between the GSM iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S? (4S is GSM and CDMA, correct?)

I know people don't receive 3G with T-Mobile on an iPhone 4, but I've heard some people say that the iPhone 4S can receive T-Mobile 3G. Is this because of a hardware change, or a tower change? The 4S is supposed to be a world phone, right? Shouldn't it support almost all conventional frequencies? I'd really like T-Mobile, because their $30 dollar prepaid plan looks great. However, I would use data a ton, and I'd like to have 3G.

Also, does T-Mobile have HPSA+, like AT&T? After all, they're partnered. I'd think they'd at least share towers if they don't merge.

Thanks for any help.

All depends on where you live. Some people have found they are getting near 3G speeds as T-Mo is slowly bringing new spectrum online. They are receiving spectrum from ATT as part of the failed merger agreement. But you would properly need to do a bunch of research in terms of where this is happening to see if it makes sense for you.
