Hey guys, I know there are probably some threads like this, but my situation is a little different on this.
I am currently with Verizon wireless, and my wife and i are absolutely hating it. We get little to no service in our apartment right now, and I get very few bars on Campus where I am currently going to school. We've tried talking to them about this, and they haven't felt inclined to help us at all beyond offering us new devices for the msrp
Anyway, we are looking at at&t and finally getting iPhones, which we have both wanted. However, since we are both students, money is a little tight.
My friend owns an 1st gen 8gb iPhone, and is looking to sell it. He would sell it to me for around the same price as the 8gb 3G, and the monthly bill is cheaper. I'm wondering if I should just buy his iPhone and save money monthly. The only thing I'm wondering is if that is a good idea, and if at&t can work a family plan out with one iPhone and one iPhone 3G.
Basically, I have access to a ton of wifi spots in my area, and I'm an employee at Starbucks, so I get 20% off my monthly bill from at&t (when I switch) along with free at&t wifi at any starbucks, etc. Also, my home town in rural Wisconsin (currently living in Chicago area) doesn't have any 3G service, so that wouldn't be useful there. Any thoughts? Sorry this was long as hell and scattered.
