This is my solution to "Syncing User's iPhone" continuous sync problem.

1. Plug iPhone to iTunes
2. Cancel sync immediately.
3. Uncheck sync contact in iTunes.
4. Uncheck sync music. (Remove all songs)
5. Create a playlist. (e.g. test playlist)
6. Put 1 song into the playlist.
7. Sync the 'test playlist'
8. Wait for sync to complete. (It should complete within 15 minutes)
9. Uncheck 'test playlist', check the songs you want to sync.
10. Hit sync and wait.
11. I waited my iPhone to sync for around 40 minutes. (just wait, it should work.)
12. Done! ;D

Wow man, I am having this EXACT same problem and if you are right, then I can't thank you enough... I'm gonna wait for my battery to die and then I'll try this. If anyone else wants to try and confirm in the mean time I would appreciate it.

EDIT: Actually I might be having a different problem. It says it is syncing my music, but then none of it shows up on my phone. I don't actually get an error...

Haha, it worked for me.

Just watch finish CNET LIVE and Brian Tong seems to have the same problem. Haa! ;D

Anyway, just wait for the last "Syncing User's iPhone" thingy, should work. ;D

EDIT: Try restoring your firmware first!

Is there any sort of consensus as to why this has happened to some people?

I've been running 3.0b for two weeks on all of my testing devices and not one problem with iTunes.

For some eason, after syncing it only shows the one song, yet says I have 5 gigs used on music... Hmm
