iPhone photo geotagging not working

Hi all,

I was recently in an airplane with both my iPad and iphone 15 pro in airplane mode. The pictures I took with the iPad were all geo-tagged, but none of the phone pictures were tagged. The camera has access to the location while using the app.

FWIW, my iPad continuously showed the gps arrow at the top right, while the phone never did. I have the latest software on both devices.

Is there any way to fix this?
