iPhone picture flashes when unlocking

My husband's iPhone 6 has a weird "problem". Recently, the phone started flashing a picture when he unlocked it. It was a quick flash & he was only able to get a glimpse of what appeared to be a woman in a red dress. It wasn't any of his pictures & he can't reproduce it on demand. Just now, the picture flashed long enough that he recognized it is an album cover from one of his albums. So, that mystery is solved but we can't figure out why the phone flashes that picture at random times when he unlocks the phone. Anyone else experienced this?
 
I have never heard of this one, and have no thoughts other than to close all apps and reboot. But think you should send this one off to Apple cuz it's a wild one. Happy for your husband's sake figured out where picture is from. ;)
 
Some sort of proactive type of thing perhaps? Or maybe handoff/continuity in some fashion?
 
Just had a thought. Try putting in a new wallpaper, perhaps cycle it through twice. Use some other picture and then use one you really want like the fish head or polluted water. Hehe
See if the lady in red still appears.

This like a puzzle to solve.

Does this show up on the lock screen itself as TouchID is used and flashes quickly as the phone unlocks given that the lock screen doesn't appear for long, or is the lock screen different and this somehow appears just exactly during the transition from the lock screen to the home screen?

Good point, use finger other than one finger print ID. Perhaps lady in red will appear for longer. My ID unlock so fast on 6s Plus many times I don't even see my fish head.

I believe it is the second one. He's going to the regular 6, not a 6s, so doesn't have the faster Touch ID

He's not sure if it was the last one played. He's going to try changing the wallpaper first & if that doesn't work, he will try the album change. He hasn't played music on it in a couple of weeks
