iphone plan question

I have a iphone 4 with 3 year Bell plan. I want to upgrade to a iphone 4s, is it possible to keep my existing 3 year plan? If so do I have to pay the full price of 649 dollars? or I could buy it for 160 dollars just like you would pay if you started a new plan?
