iPhone Plug-In BEEPING

I have a MacBook Pro and my sister has a MacBook Air who is visiting me right now. Anytime I plug my iPhone into the USB port (doesn't matter which) I hear a constant beeping sound and the iPhone screen constantly flickers. My sister just had the same experience and told me she has had it since she bought her MB Air 8 months ago.

Anyone else have this experience and know how to resolve it?

Have you tried using a different cable?

Yeah I even bought 2 new ones and spoke with the Genius Bar. They had no answer either, but it appears to be a wide enough issue that Apple should look into this.
