So I've read a lot of alleged iPhone has been hacked threads and it seems clear that it's not possible unless your iPhone is jailbroken. I get that and just want to tell a story and see if it's possible that an iPhone is potentially hacked or not:
My step-daughter started at a new school and a boy in her class asked to see her iPhone (iPhone 6) and when he gave it back his number was in it. Smooth and all that. He then claimed that he was able to hack peoples phones from his. A few days later he was texting her and at the end of the text conversation her iPhone did a reset, and when it came back some apps started opening up without her doing anything. She shut it off and has been keeping it in airplane mode afraid he has been hacking her phone.
Is it possible he loaded something on the phone like a trojan when he entered his number in her phone originally?
My plan is to take her to a verizon store have her pictures and such backed up and then do a hard reset on the phone, but I am wondering if that's overkill?
