This is my first mobile phone. I have my email account with GoDaddy and it syncs fine via iCloud between my Mac Pro, MacBook Pro and iPad Pro (using the new iPadOS).

When I first started up my new iPhone, it asked me if I wanted to copy all my settings from my iPad and that is what I did.

As far as I can tell, comparing the various setting screens o both devices, they match.

I can send an email to myself from the iPhone and it shows up in the InBox on all my other devices, but nothing EVER shows up in my InBox on the iPhone and it is not syncing my InBox like my other devices? The test emails I send to myself from the iPhone do show up in the SENT messages section of MAIL.

1Password, Safari, etc. are all syncing as expected - just not iPhone MAIL InBox.

What am I missing?

I think I solved it? I went to my GoDaddy account via Safari on the iPhone and went to the Email configuration section. They had a downloadable configuration file for iOS (among others). I downloaded the file and it then showed up at the top of the Settings app with an "Install" option. I don't know exactly what it did, but it apparently installed everything I needed and MAIL now syncs with all my devices!

I cannot explain why the proper configuration did not port over from the iPad that I synced with initially?
