I am thinking about getting the iphone pro5.8 inch, for those who have it what are your thought on that screen size versus the max. Let me know your thoughts!

I used the max / plus size for 2 years back to back but couldn’t get used to the size so opted for the normal size this year and couldn’t be happier.

However if you’re someone who watches content on the device then you’ll miss the size. I hardly ever watch anything on my phone.

I had an iPhone XS 5.8” and now have a Pro Max. The difference in the two sizes is substantial but, somehow it feels to me, less pronounced than the difference between an iPhone 8 and an 8 Plus.

I found 5.8” good for most things but I gradually got irritated with the keyboard and the lack of real estate for web browsing making webpages appear cramped and cluttered. 5.8” gives a great form factor for the device, but for me it’s worth the extra heft to have those precious few inches more screen.

I need to be able to use my phone one handed a lot of the time so the 5.8 works best. Rumour has it a 5.4” is coming next year. If true, I’m getting that.

Got the 5.8” Pro and I love the size, had an XR last year and it was just a touch too big where as the 5.8” device feels a lot more comfortable to use for any extended period of time.

If possible go to a store and play with them both. Even though I have long fingers I’ve found that I still always use two hands when typing or browsing on the 5.8 phone. It is just more comfortable that way. So I thought why not just try the Pro Max then.

So far it’s awesome and the extra width of the screen is appreciated. I don’t find the size cumbersome at all. I’ve enlarged the Safari font to 115% and it is so comfortable. The notch is less intrusive because the rest of the screen is so large. Not to mention I last charged the phone to 100% last night at 7:50 PM...it’s now 5 PM / nearly 21 hours off the charger / my typical use and my battery is at 69%.

My first Plus sized iPhone, love it.

I tried the XS Max last year but, found it unpocketable (if that’s a word) so returned it for the XS. This year went straight to the 11 Pro 5.8". Love it.

As others have said, the basic difference is the 11 Pro is a 1-handed device, the Max is a 2-handed device. If you want to be able to use your phone 1-handed the smaller one is the way to go. If you primarily use your phone for entertainment/media consumption the Max may be a better option. The battery on the Max is much better (by about 20-30%) too. A small detail but the Max also has a noticeably stronger Taptic Engine as well. Unfortunately iOS makes poor usage of the larger screen and there are no extra software features on the Max (multi-window, split-screen, etc.), so that is a major downside. The Max is also a lot heavier.

I had the 6S plus, 7 plus, 8 plus and then I got the X and it was the perfect size for me. I tried out the XS max but I’m a one handed user and this form factor was great for me. As far as media I don’t use my phone for much media (play a few games and what not), that’s what my iPad and TV is for lol. I think the XR/11 is the perfect size for an all over media consumption device.
