I got the pro and I finally got it set up and it seems to work perfectly. Have a screen protector and case on it as well (so I'm pretty committed) Price isn't an issue.
I'm just torn as it feels too big, yes it's heavy but it's a comfortable Weigh and feels amazing coming from the 8 (I've since realized my case on the 8 was giving me the absolute *****).

Anyway, I can't stop thinking of the mini. Everyone keeps saying how bad the battery life if and how the camera isn't all that best. Could you guys help me make sure I'm doing the right thing and that I'll get used to the pro, or roughly how mucb battery will I lose if I go to the mini?

I got the Mini and I don't think I'm ever looking back. Flagship phones have been inching larger and heavier year over year, and I just don't need that much phone. I want a fast device with great cameras that fits comfortably in my pockets. The $300 difference between the Mini and Pro is the easiest cash Apple has ever made.

The 13 Mini is the best iPhone ever made.

Edit: also, I find the camera bump on the pro absolutely comical.

Camera is 95% as good as the pro line up for almost all the people who use it and their usage pattern. It’s got the 12 pro max sensor and stabilisation (on sensor). Side by side there’s next to no difference, low light is where the pro models have a slight advantage but not by much.

Battery life on the 13 mini is greatly improved over the 12 mini and even beats the regular 12 from last year as well.

The only thing you miss out on are the frosted glass back, 120hz screen, telephoto lens.

You gain a device that can be used a lot easier, takes up less space in a pocket and weighs less, has nicer aluminium sides than the stainless steel ones that are much easier to damage.

Horses for courses as they say…

Keep in mind that battery stress tests for the 13 mini are getting 8+ hours of straight screen on time. That should last almost anyone all day long. I look at that number and think to myself…..”Is my life truly being utilized properly by staring at a phone for more than 8 hours of the day?”.

Keep in mind, it’s always easier to go from a smaller display to a larger display, found it hard going from a larger display back to a smaller display.

Had the 11, then the 12 Pro and have now had the 13 mini for a week. I will never go back and will keep this phone as long as it will possibly function.

I cannot recommend this size enough. So liberating to have a phone that can fit it your pocket, be used with one hand and not give me fatigue from holding it while watching a video.

I even type much better on this keyboard for some reason and the cameras and battery life are fantastic, just not mind blowing like the 13 pro. I would recommend going to store and using the phone for 5 minutes and see how you like it.

Hoping the rumors that this is the last year of the mini aren’t true. Selfishly hoping you’ll get the mini as the more that buy it, the higher chance they’ll keep it around for years to come!
