Hi all, bit of a situation regarding apple care!

In September I got a refurbed iPhone 4S from 3 (Americans look at three uk for data deals that don't destroy a wallet) anyhow, it was advertised as coming with a 12 month warranty! Great!

2 days ago sound in iPhone goes! Call 3 and they say all repairs go through apple as they do not allow 3 to open their phones. Made a genius appointment and they said that I was out of warranty! After talking to 3 and getting an email from 3 confirming when I got my phone, the manager agreed to repair the phone as if it was under a first year warranty! All good so far, but here comes the problem...

After the phone was fixed I called AppleCare to arrange the coverage to be extended until September. However, this request was denied as I could not prove my purchase(despite that I could). Apple now saying that 3 had no right to advertise as having a 12 month contract, but I was sold a contract with this being sold. At the moment some supervisor is taking this to a higher level and so I'm wondering what others would do in this situation.

Ideal outcome is that apple just let me have my apple care for another 5 months. Lets be honest they won't exactly loose money

That's one of the draw backs when purchasing refurbs from a carrier. Apple goes by the original purchase date of the original owner.
