iPhone Protection, how used after 1/2 year?

Hi!

I'm from germany, and i'm going to get my iPhone on the day after tommorrow. I already bought an Incase Prodective Cover and an iPhone Dock. Now, I realized, that the phone won't fit into the dock while wearing the case. And it doesn't look so good with the case.

My question is, how used is an iPhone, that has never worn any case. Is it really bad scratched, or is it like nothing happened? How abbout your solutions: case or no case?

There's a post in the Accessories forum about 'running naked' without scratches.
If I were you, I'd look at the clear film covers like InvisibleSHIELD if you're worried about bulkiness.
