iPhone Proximity sensor

SO the white iphone has a new proximity sensor, I have the black iPhone 4, I didn't think it had a sensor until I looked around the internet a little bit and noticed that some people were saying it has one but since the phone is black its hard to see.. is this true? if so how do I set up this sensor
