I'm wondering if this would work:

I'm new to AT&T and will be signing up at the Apple Store.
My father will be paying for the service, so he will be the account holder, although I will be the only person on the account with a phone line.

I am going to go to the Apple Store, and pay mostly with a gift card ($250).
However, because cash isn't accepted, I'm wondering if I can use my debit card for the remaining balance even though my father is going to be the account holder because he will be paying for the monthly charges. Will they be able to put the activation fee and other carrier related charges on his account and the actual purchase of the phone on my account?

Yes. Doesnt matter who pays for it.
