iPhone quad band question

I know the iPhone is quad band, but if I take my iPhone with me from Chicago to Greece, will I be able to make phone calls without an additional cost? I've never taken my iPhone over seas before and I am leaving tomorrow at 9am and wanted to know that if I take my iPhone with me will I be charged for an international call or just like the typical way I am billed currently.
