iPhone really updating already?

I know its been a while now. 3G iPhone almost been alive as long as the 1 gen.

But seriously, why update already. Its selling like hotcakes, not many complaints besides some needed updates and 2.2 is already on the way.

I wouldn't mind waiting another year, give them time to come up with something even MORE amazing.

You guys think its time? I personally have not had the 3G for a LONG time. I would like to get a little more "moneys worth" out of it. One year is just so short

The 3G has been out for as long as the gen 1? I don't think so. The 3g is still a fairly new product. I think iPhone is an a 12 month product cycle... so no redesign until summer. We may see small updates (a 32gb model) but not a new generation of product.

We may not see a redesign of the iPhone but I suspect there might be an introduction of different models at MWSF...

3rd gen iPhone at Macworld in Jan 2010. 14 months from now. Has to be.

They'll probably release a 32GB 3G before then though.

It is Apple's traditional event, MacWorld San Francisco.

They usually give users what they are doing, what to expect and introduce

exciting new products. There is no set of date, but each year, event is

usually during January. Last year, Steve gave us MacBook Air,Time capsules,

movie rentals?

Every year we get to see two major events = WWDC , Macworld among with the special events such as ipod event and last year and this year iphone.

MWSF - Macworld San Francisco. It's the major conference held in January by Macworld which Apple will often have a keynote address at. Big product announcements are typically made at it.

There is sometimes a general product cycle that one can follow, much like with the iPod line. Otherwise, it's general speculation.

Title misleading. Sounds like you heard there was an update. Confusing post all around.

Agree the flagship Iphone 3G will likely not be updated until next summer.

BUT, much like the original ipod scenario, expect a new cheaper model
of the iphone in the not too distant future.

I think you're confusing a software update for a hardware update.

Apple should never stop releasing updates. If bugs are discovered, they need to be squashed, and if new features are ready for delivery, I WANT IT NOW!!!

Nevermind. I just read your post again, and it was me, who had the comphrension problem.

I still want it now though...
