I live in an area in north eastern Utah, where cell phone reception is marginal. However I never had much of a problem with a Palm Treo. My 3G drops lots of calls, and 1/3 of the time I can't call out. Does anyone know if the 3GS will have better reception and transmission? Positive assurance will provide rationalization for blowing $300 for the 3GS.

Your problems are not just your area

I have spent time in 3 major cities with my original iPhone and 3G iPhone and get the same amount of dropped calls

Pretty terrible but just something I deal with

I just started a new thread before seeing yours. See:

My 3G was basically unusable because of dropped calls in my house which is an area of poor signal. With the 3GS I haven't dropped a single call.
