Two points. How is it the blackberry's hold calls and get significantly better reception then the iphone on the exact same networks? How is it this occurs on every network in the world (3 I can personally attest to)? Don't tell me AT&T has a problem, or it is software issue.
So I moved to Paris beginning of 09 and have had an iphone now on AT&T, Orange and SFR. For 6 months I had to have a blackberry for work and I had a personal iphone, and the blackberry held calls and got reception no problem where the iphone couldn't come close, a significant difference...and this is in Europe and nothing to do with AT&T. The reception has been s**t on all of them since they went to the 3G. This is NOT an AT&T issue and never has been, Apple just has them by the balls. My company finally started supporting it and all the executives starting getting them. Then a month later they are all switching back to blackberrys, this took place in both the US and Europe, and it's due to dropped calls and reception. I just really really don't get how this is common knowledge to everybody I know but it isn't being publicized anywhere until now. From my experience, and I've owned every generation, the iphone 4 has the same exact reception and possibly even better.
Anybody remember the "fix" they had on the 3G. After reception complaints they said the bars weren't working correctly. So this "fix" then left everybody with full bars but s**t reception and dropped calls. I love my iphone, I really really do, and the pro's outweight the cons for me, but is it too much to ask that after 4 generations of this they are able to get the reception I had on my first cell phone from 2003?? And don't tell me I can't complain just because I have decided not to return it. I am an apple proponent but if I get a viable option that my work will support I am moving. The good news is they can't move to Verizon until they fix it. Over here everybody knows it because so many networks have to carry it...what, do they all have the same problem?
