Error 21 indicates your phone was not in DFU-mode when restoring.

Connect to USB

Put it in dfu by holding power and home until phone turns off, count 3 seconds, release power while holding home for another 10 seconds.

Your screen should be black not showing anything, and itunes should pop-up saying it detected a iphone in recovery-mode (actually now its in DFU-mode)

Now download 5.1.1 IPSW from here:
http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750

In itunes now ALT-restore(mac) or SHIFT-restore(win) with the downloaded IPSW.

The above procedure is if you don't need to unlock, if you do, make a custom 5.1.1 IPSW, google on that

nope.... itunes shows the error 21 again, I'm starting to think that it will never turn on again :(:(:(

are you sure you are in DFU-mode and not recovery mode, is two differnt modes.

Recovery shows the connect to itunes screen, DFU is blank not showing anything.

From the iPhone wiki:
Error 21
Custom firmware restore fail (PwnageTool since 4.1). You have to put your device into the DFU mode and not into recovery mode. Device won't boot correctly an stuck at the Apple logo after the error. Press and hold power and home button until it reboots.
Error when using Sauriks server for a restore with iOS 5.x in the recovery mode at least on a A5 device.
This error can also happen when you try to restore an iPod with hardware dfu. Use iREB r5 to solve this.
You are trying to update to a beta firmware without UDID activation.

Download TinyUmbrella, connect phone, open TU go to advanced, make sure Set Host to Cydia is UNchecked
