Hi there i currently have an iphone 3GS and i have owned it for just over a year now.

This morning i woke and found that the iphone was off for some reason and i tried to turn it on as normal but there was no response, so i tried holding down the home and power buttons at the same time and still no response.

Then I tried connecting to Itunes and it was not responding

Any ideas guys would be much appreciated

Many Thanks

Leave it plugged in for a short time period in case the battery was fully drained. If it doesn't show any signs of life after about 20 minutes, you may need to go to apple but being a 3GS it may be time to upgrade.

Unfortunately its a pay and go iphone and also left it on charge for a full 6 hours and no response.

Read one of the guides on getting an iPhone into DFU mode and follow that sequence. I had a phone do this once and going the DFU route at least got it to wake back up. No idea why it happened and it never happened again after that one time (it's been almost 2 years).
