So i noticed a spec of dust under the display glass on my 11 pro Max. Since ive only had it for 2 months i took in to an authorized repair shop. They looked at it and agreed it was dust and Apple approved the repair. I was supposed to pick up the phone today. Now i just got a call from the tech saying in the middle of the repair Apple flagged my phone and said i must send it in to them for the repair. They want to see if there was an issue with a certain batch of iPhone.
Now i'm kind of p'd off. Why did they approve my warranty claim in the first place ? Has this happened to anyone else ?

EDIT: The Authorized service center say they see the flag but an Apple senior advisor tells me they see no issue but they can't make the service center do the repair. Looks like i have no choice but to mail it in. Service center said they might just send me a new device but funny thing is i don't even want a new device. Mine was mint, had 100% battery and worked perfect. What a hassle.
