Just wondering what happens when you have to give in your iphone for repair? Do they give you a replacement right away and charge you for that OR can you take out the SIM and use it in a different phone until you get it back?

I need to turn in the phone to have them look at battery issues (I get only 2-3 hrs MAX when using EDGE) but, I cannot afford to be without a phone for however long they will take to look at the issue. Can I just take the SIM and use it on a different phone (w/o any iphone features) for a day or two or do/will I need to get a replacement?

Thanks

If you have a store nearby take it in and tell them you concerns. I know the folks at my local store replace you iPhone right there onsite. I think apple did an about face and now provides stores with phone replacments so owners wont have to wait like that.
