My new iPhone 17 Pro Max has required me to enter my password every morning for the last three days. Looking through the battery usage logs, I see a large gap highlighted in green:
And looking in the Analytics Data (under Privacy & Security --> Analytics & Improvements), I see multiple "OTAUpdate" entries:
Is it reasonable to assume that Apple is pushing multiple updates over the past week and my iPhone is resartign overnight after installing? If so, is this normal? I do have Automatic Updates set to "Download Only" and I'm already running iOS26 so I don't know what would actually be updating.
Thanks for any insight you can provide. I'm just trying to figure out if there is an issue with my new phone or if this is just another of the many bugs in iOS26 that will be addressed in an update.
This is reminding me of similar incidents back with iOS 17: https://www.macworld.com/article/2104482/iphone-shutting-down-overnight-ios-17-0-3-update.html
