Hello Expert n Friends,

I am new to IPhone, this is 1st time I took touch screen mobile..
being an IT engg i do have habbit of messing up with gadgets and then fixing :p
Did same with new Iphone 3g.. restored it manytimes like 5-6 maybe.. within 3hours of time.. JailBroken with blackrain.. unlocked using cydia..
Actually i was trying to fix the GPS, Wi-Fi and Youtube problem that happens when u jailbreak it.

Now the Issue is.. browsing options on my phone is slow dont know whats the problem..
if I go inside any application its opening slowly.. takes arround 3 secs to open, for example camera, photos, settings and sub-menus.. everything is slow

I hope you guys can help..

A bit afraid to restore it again.. maybe it will become more slower than now..

Please help..

Thanks for your time guys..

It can be pretty much guaranteed that a restore will speed it up; not sure the amount, but you should be able to tell the difference, especially if you haven't in a while.

3G past 3.0+ firmware is a little sluggish. Add to that jailbreaking and installing packages or custom stuff you might have installed will probably make it slower.
Shouldnt be a surprise.

I did restoration yesterday night and it started working slow.. :-(

OK, here are the list of installed packages in cydia..
may be this will help you guys to get an idea..

Appsunc for OS 3.1
BigBoss's Source
Cydia Comunity
Cydia Installer
Iphone firmware
Ispazio
modmyi.com
OpenSSH
PushFix
Sauriks source
source GUI
ste;s source
zodTTDs source

Its a noticeable difference in browsing menu's when i purchased it 4 days back it was having some older version.
Then upgraded it to 3.1.2 using itunes..
jailbreak, unlocked
and it was working fine.. there was no problem.. else GPS, Youtube and Wifi (wifi stopped working after unlocking)
Menu browsing was not atall slow.. its was like " click and right now"

to get these things fixed last night I restored it manytimes coz if one works then other was not working thats why..

Do you still notice it when you restore the iphone in stock firmware before you jailbreak?
If it does then its the 3.1.2 update. The latest software is alot more system resource hungry.
Not as fast as 2.2.1 was on the 2G and 3G models.
On the 3GS is not noticeable.

I cant browse my phone unless i jailbreak it..
But I am very much sure, this started after last night restoration.
dont know where exactly things went wrong..

I will search for solution around, if cant get it done then will restore it again.. and will see what happens..

But still dont want to restore it anymore..

New question...

The first time i got my iphone i turned on the stopwatch and it is at 12900 hours and obviolsy that took a long time.... i was wondering i was to restore my iphone would that stopwatch go blank? or continue cause no matter what i want that stopwatch to keep going and going...Thanks
