Has anyone returned an iPhone to Apple when they used a trade in to offset some of the cost? I did everything in store so I got the credit instantly. I’m thinking of returning the 12 Pro and Apple told me that I’m out the $370 credit and the phone I traded in.

I’m interested in this too.

If I buy an iPhone mini outright for $879, and trade in my iPhone XS for $300, presumably they bill my credit card for $579.

If I decide to return it within 14 days, would I get $579 refunded to my credit card and a $300 Apple Store Gift Card?

It would seem very unfair to get nothing refunded for the trade-in, but it’s also understandable that Apple wouldn’t want to effectively pay cash for an old phone.

This is why I'm so skeptical of trade ins. If something goes wrong youre out the phone you traded in.

Obviously, I do not know all of Apple's rules. But, as a business, I would find it very difficult to believe that you would not receive a gift card (of sorts), for your trade-in amount...
