Hi,
I just acquired an Iphone 3g last night.
It all worked apart from the home button (quite sure it’s a hardware issue) and I was about to take it out ready for my replacement to arrive, however upon taking the Iphone apart and reassembling it, the ribbon 1 came off and now it doesn’t seem to want to stay connected, as a result the screens blank.
Are there any tips of how to get the damn thing to stay on?
I thought I got it on and closed it but it still won’t fire up.
If it’s not that what could it be?
The ribbon looks intact without damage….I can post his res images this eve if that will help?

Try to do a hard reset on the phone to see if the screen is back on.
