iPhone ringtone

I just got an iPhone 4S and I decided to buy a ringtone (yes I bought one). when I previewed it, it sounded very full and sounded pretty cool. But when I purchased it and set it as my ringtone, it didn't sound as full and rich as the preview. I was just wondering if this was normal.
