Well, I've had an adventure the last few days with my phones & service. I've had ATT for the last three years, and on Friday I used the upgrade on my line to get a 16gb space gray iphone from Radio Shack. Of course, my wife was jealous since she still had a 5 and was not eligible for upgrade, but she's a trooper and didn't say much ( I was getting more cold stares than usual, though)#

Then on Tuesday, I got to looking at the price difference between ATT and Sprint, and since they just rolled out LTE in my area, I decided to switch to save money. ( we've been getting overages for our data from ATT and the unlimited plan looked really appealing). So I called a ton of Sprint stores and finally found one that had a gray 16gb and a Silver 32gb in stock. Didn't really need the 32gb size, but that's all they had, and they were selling them for $99 and $199 respectively, so I jumped. I returned my ATT 16gb to Radio Shack and we sold our 4s and 5 to gamestop, using the money to pay our ATT ETF. The Sprint LTE worked great in our offices but as soon as we got home we couldn't get service of any kind, even to make calls. We have family down the street on sprint and it works for them, but not for us. My wife had to go outside to call someone and you should have seen the look she was shooting my way. #. I even tried to put in a signal booster but the Sprint signal just could not be amplified enough to make our phones usable. ( of course, Sprint's coverage map showed we should have great coverage)

So yesterday I checked with Verizon b/c they are still cheaper than ATT with comparable coverage. I was looking for 16gb in any color, but All the Verizon stores in town were sold out, so I checked the Best Buys. I found that two had them on the website. I called CS and had them confirm that the store closest to me had them on hand, and they said they did. ( apparently you can't call a store directly, but have to work through a national call center)

Of course, I drive over there and the salesman looks at me like I'm nuts, then says that national call center has been giving out "false information" all day about store availability. I asked her politely to call the only other store in town that showed availability and ask a real person there if they had any stock. She confirmed that they did, so we rushed over and were able to get 2 16gb space gray 5s's right before the store closed. They had 12 verizon 16gb space gray, plus other carriers and models ( all gray color, though).

Not much fun, but I was able to buy 5 iPhone 5s's in as many days without waiting in a line. I'm just glad it's all over now, Verizon works great where we need it so hopefully I'm good until the 6 comes out next year.# For all you folks still waiting/looking, if you live near a large city you can probably get a 5s in hand today with a little leg work.
