I’m on the Verizon iPhone upgrade/payment program. I’ve got three More payments thru September until I hit twelve months worth of payments and can upgrade to the new iPhone. Problem is I just shattered my entire screen and can’t really use it anymore. Do I need to pay someone to get my screen fixed or I can’t trade in my iPhone after twelve months and do the upgrade? Is that my only option to pay to get it fixed? I’m just asking because it seems to be pretty expensive to fix the screen

Doesn’t your upgrade program come with any additional accidental damage insurance? If not then getting it fixed by paying seems to be your only option.

I’m not sure can anyone confirm? Or can I get Apple car after the fact now and have them fix it?

Check your Verizon bill. You will be paying a separate monthly fee for their device insurance if you enrolled in it. No, you can’t get “after the fact” insurance. Check your homeowners/renters insurance or your credit card benefits. You might find some help there.

Verizon's upgrade program doesn't automatically come with any insurance/protection plan unlike Apple, it's on the customer to purchase and/or assume the risk. I purchase Applecare+ personally, and stay away from Verizon's in-house, they use Asurion. I'm not a fan.

You have 60 days from purchase date to purchase AppleCare+, at this point, nope, you couldn't get it. Now there are times when Verizon will allow open enrollment in their protection plans, you'd need to check with them. But then again, with existing damage, you're most likely out of luck, and yes the screen will definitely need to be repaired to upgrade, they will not accept it broken.

Regardless of whether the OP has a protection plan on the device or not, they're going to have to get the screen fixed prior to trading it in to upgrade to the new iPhone.

Some Visa Infinite CCs give (pro rated) coverage of up to $1,500 over two years against loss, theft of, accidental damage or mechanical failure.
