Hi guys, I bought a second hand iPhone 7 from eBay. The odd thing though is that the colour of the icons, screen savers and screen in general is very different on this phone to my work iPhone 7 and also my iPhone 6. The colours on the eBay iPhone are less bright and clear. I checked all the settings and they are exactly the same.

If the screen on the eBay phone had been changed, would this cause this issue?

Yes, third party screens are notoriously inconsistent.
Thanks mate. And found out from seller that it is a replacement screen. And not Fromm apple but from a local high street repairer!

That’s what you get for buying off eBay!!! Gutted :(

Having Apple replace the screen is pricey but they calibrate the display as part of the repair which is nice.

I guess the old saying - you get what you pay for - mostly always is true.

Nope they don’t touch third party parts.
So it’s not so much the quality of the screen, but the quality of the calibration? If so, I guess I can take it to another 3rd party repairer to calibrate.

It could be either. When it comes to 3rd party screens you can’t trust anything.

Just read that Apple are now repairing phones that have previously been repaired by 3rd party repairers. No harm in trying my luck.

Also wondering if it is calibration, whether if a jailbreak comes out I can calibrate it that way!

Doubt it’s calibration, just poor quality.
