Might want to write your local European Commission. (What would they actually say? "We apologize for the indefinite delay on a feature you need – we're hard at work attempting to require Apple to make its products better for its users"…?)

I am not 100% certain but I think it has something to do with the EU not satisfied with the way Apple handles/Stores users Data as the EU deems their Data protection policy is much more stringent than the USA.
I haven't figured out what use it is to me. I tried it out and setting up the Mac to connect automatically to the iPhone, without authentication, for mirroring is a trade off requiring me to log into my Mac after the screen sleeps. No thanks!
